Sea, Sky, Sunset: Porthole

Sometimes a beautiful view is all we an ask for.

Flicking through my photos from the past year - I’ve taken on the gargantuan task to organise my photos which has been on my To Do list for almost a decade, don’t ask - I came across the following, thinking I’d taken a fish eye photo but looking closer (and remembering back) I realise this was taken in one of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s Sea Taxis.

A small 6-8 seater boat that you can book in advance to take you across the Bosphorus or even to the Princes Islands. Sunset through a porthole.

On this particular occasion we were heading to the islands for rakı (a Turkish alcoholic drink you eat with meze and/or fish etc.)

I love how certain frames capture the spirit of the moment so beautifully. And I feel that this photo does that perfectly.
